Schwanna Ellman, Principal
Welcome Jackie Robinson School (P.S. 375) Families, Scholars, Staff and Visitors to our website. P.S. 375 is located in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. JRS has approximately 350 students who are in classes from Pre-K to 5th grade. Our school is situated on the landmark property once known as Ebbets Field, where the legendary Jackie Robinson himself played baseball.
Approximately 34% of our students are identified as English Language Learners (ELL) and less than 25% are identified as Students with Disabilities (SWD). At JRS our programs are designed to help each child reach his or her full potential in an environment that is challenging, secure and nurturing. This a very exciting time in a child's life and what we hope will be the beginning of a lifelong love of learning. We believe that young children learn through active, purposeful interactions with a wide variety of learning materials and activities that develop the growth of the whole child. Because young children are concrete learners, they need to be able to learn by using all of their senses and by trying things out on their own to deliver this experience we engage in project based learning.
Some of our school-wide programs include:
Teacher's College Reading and Writing Project,
ICT classes, Departmentalized (grades 3-5)
Sanford Harmony for Social Emotional Learning,
Visual Arts, STEM, 3D Printing Lab, Nano Humanoid Robot,
Portfolio Based Promotion, Physical Education
So, please enjoy our website and feel free to stop by for a visit to see the wonderful learning that our scholars enjoy everyday! Until we meet, be well.
